Samarahan Division Resident tops Sarawak State Honours investiture ceremony

KUCHING: Samarahan Division Resident, Mohamad Irwan Bahari Bujang, topped the list of 152 recipients honoured at the Sarawak State Honours and Medals investiture ceremony today (Feb 5).

He was among nine recipients of the ‘Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang’ (P.P.C) medal, which was also awarded to the Director of the Sarawak Transformation and Innovation Unit, Premier’s Department Sarawak, Superi Awang Said; Director of the Administration Unit, Premier’s Department Sarawak, Rusmaliza Mat Darus; Director of the Sarawak State Health Department, Dr Veronica Lugah; and Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment Sarawak, Lo Sheu Sia.

Also receiving the medal were the Chief Administrator of the Sarawak Ombudsman, Integrity and Ombudsman Unit, Premier’s Department Sarawak, Wan Mohamad Wan Drahman; Director of the Sarawak State Education Department, Omar Mahli; Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Food Industry, Commodities and Regional Development Sarawak, Syed Ismail Nasiruddin Dato’ Sri Wan Hashim; and Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Utilities and Communications Sarawak, Syed Mohamad Fauzi Shahaib.

The ceremony today was officiated by Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, at the Grand Hall, Astana Negeri.

It was followed by the conferment of the ‘Darjah Pegawai Bintang Sarawak’ (P.B.S) honour to four recipients: Urology Consultant at Borneo Medical Centre, Dr Lim Meng Shi; Associate Editor of the Sarawak Tribune, Murugaiah Meyappan; Principal of Geomatics Survey Consultants, Sulaiman Salleh; and Chief Assistant Director of the Coordination, Control and Monitoring Division, Ministry of Economy, Nor Shahida Mohd Sahimi.

During the ceremony, Wan Junaidi also awarded the ‘Darjah Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang’ (P.B.K) honours to 17 recipients and the ‘Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti’ (P.P.B) medals to 20 recipients.

Meanwhile, 13 recipients were awarded the ‘Darjah Ahli Bintang Sarawak’ (A.B.S) honours, while 21 others received the ‘Darjah Ahli Bintang Kenyalang’ (A.B.K) honours.

A total of 32 recipients received the ‘Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji’ (P.P.T) medals during this ceremony.

The ceremony concluded with the conferment of the ‘Darjah Bentara Bintang Sarawak’ (B.B.S) honours to 36 recipients, the highest number of awardees for the event.
