KUCHING: The Samarahan Indoor Stadium in Kota Samarahan has been selected as the venue for a futsal in conjunction with the 21st Malaysia Games (SUKMA) here in August.
The futsal is scheduled to take place from Aug 13 to 23 with the participation of 12 states.
So far, 192 players have registered themselves for the event.
The indoor stadium could accommodate up to 2,000 spectators at a time, including players and tournament officials.
In connection with this, officials from government agencies visited the centre to observe ongoing preparations, followed by a briefing by the Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC).
Meanwhile, the Megalanes Bowling Centre in Batu Kawa here has been designated as the venue for the tenpin bowling event during the SUKMA, with the tenpin bowling event scheduled to take place from Aug 14 to 20.
