KOTA SAMARAHAN: A 67-year-old man with chronic kidney disease, living in Kampung Sebayor, Samarahan, now relies entirely on his 71-year-old sister for daily care as he refuses medical treatment, including dialysis.

Collin Awi, a retired security guard who has never married, also suffers from uncontrolled diabetes, visual impairment and swollen legs, leaving him physically weak and financially dependent.

According to his sister, Doris, Collin spends most of his days lying down, staring into space and refusing medication or doctor’s appointments.

“My brother looks like he’s given up on life,” she said.

The siblings live in a dilapidated family home with no proper plumbing.

As Collin’s mobility has worsened, he now uses a commode chair in his room.

Hope Place Kuching, also known as Persatuan Kebajikan Harapan Kuching (PKHK), has been providing basic food aid supplies to support the family.

The organisation welcomes donations to assist Collin and Doris, which can be made via Maybank (511289001160) or through Sarawak Pay/S PAY GLOBAL QR codes on their Facebook page. For inquiries, call 082-505987 or 013-5672775.
