KUCHING: The full rehearsal for the ‘Sambutan Aidilfitri MADANI 2025 bersama Perdana Menteri Peringkat Sarawak’ went smoothly today at the Stadium Perpaduan, Petra Jaya here.
State Protocol, Ceremony and Event Management Unit (UPPANS) Director, Datuk Hamdan Sharbini, was present to oversee the final preparations and ensure the smooth running of the overall programme.
The Sambutan Aidilfitri MADANI celebration is expected to attract thousands of people from various ethnic backgrounds across the state tomorrow (April 19).
The event will begin with ‘silat’ and ‘hadrah’ performances as a symbolic welcome for the arrival of Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, and his wife, Datin Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang, are also expected to attend and enliven the celebration.
The event will also feature cultural performances by the Sarawak Arts Council, along with appearances by local artistes such as Ila Damia, Arabyrd, Mal Imran and Ramles Walter among others, promising an energetic and festive atmosphere.
Adding to the excitement, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of traditional Hari Raya delicacies, including lemang, ketupat, satay, rendang and Malay kuih.
This celebration serves as an important platform to realise the Malaysia MADANI concept, which celebrates cultural diversity and strengthens the bonds between the people and the nation’s leaders.
