MARUDI: The search and rescue (SAR) operation for a missing man in Pangkalan Rembai, Sungai Melikat Marudu was called off late Sunday after there were no signs of his whereabouts.
The SAR would resume today.
Cassidy Ali, 23, from Kampung Sungai Melikat A, Marudi was reported missing on Friday after he failed to return home from a fishing trip with a friend.
The fishing spot was located at about 40 minutes away from their longhouse.
After reaching the spot, the friends parted ways and took up positions about 80 metres from one another.
Later that day, only Cassidy’s friend returned home.
