KUCHING: The Sarawak Agrofest (SAF) 2025 will be held at the Bintulu Old Airport site for 10 days from August 22 to 31.
Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom said the event is expected to be launched by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg on August 23.
He said the main objective of SAF is to actively promote agriculture and agro-based industry by showcasing all the various components of the industry.
“Embracing the future of agriculture, this year’s theme ‘Industrialising Agro Sector Through Smart Technology’ highlights the transformative role of innovation in driving productivity, sustainability and growth,” he told a press conference here today (May 20).
SAF 2025 will create opportunities for agricultural stakeholders to establish networking, business matching and cooperation to enhance the agricultural supply and value chain.
More than 200 exhibitors, including government agencies, agribusiness companies, food processors and distributors, cooperatives and farmer associations, agri-tech startups and financial institutions are expected to participate in the festival.
SAF 2025 anticipates attracting more than 600,000 visitors from across Sarawak and aims to generate approximately RM6 million in sales.
