KUCHING: All air quality monitoring stations across Sarawak recorded moderate air quality levels as of 11 am today (July 27), according to data from the Department of Environment’s Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS).

Currently, Kuching registered the highest Air Pollutant Index (API) reading at 80, followed by Bintulu (78), Samarahan (77), Serian, Sri Aman (75), Serian (72), Sarikei (70), Miri (68), Sibu (65), Kapit (65), Mukah (65), and Limbang (64).

Under Malaysia’s API classification, readings of 0–50 are considered Good, 51–100 are Moderate, and 101–200 are classified as Unhealthy.

While no locations in Sarawak have recorded unhealthy levels so far, the public is advised to remain vigilant and take precautions, especially vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory conditions.
