COLOMBO: Four teams from Sarawak’s public service sector achieved Gold Awards at the 49th International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC) 2024 from Nov 11 to 14 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Led by the Sarawak’s Transformation and Innovation Unit (STIU) director Superi Awang Said, the Sarawak delegation showcased strong teamwork and creative problem-solving.

Expressing pride in their accomplishments, Superi added that these achievements underscore the success of innovation-driven initiatives promoted by the Sarawak Civil Service Innovation Convention Awards (SCSICA), which have prepared local teams for international competition.

He said the prestigious recognition highlights Sarawak’s commitment to public service excellence through innovation and quality improvement.

The award-winning teams included TECHSKAP from Bintulu Development Authority, Lands Tahai Q from the Limbang Division Land and Survey Department, IPOK from the Mukah Resident Office and EAGLE from Sibu Municipal Council.

ICQCC 2024 hosted 594 teams from 15 countries, making it a highly competitive event for showcasing quality control and innovation. The Sarawak teams’ success shows their dedication to continuous improvement in public service delivery.
