KUCHING: The Sarawak Civil Service (SCS) welcomed Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s Special Financial Assistance (BKK), which grants civil servants two months’ basic salary as a major boost and recognition of their service.

State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki said the assistance, amounting to RM131 million, is a recognition of the hard work of Sarawak civil servants, and that the good news will certainly encourage them to continue serving with full dedication and professionalism.

“On behalf of the entire Sarawak Civil Service, I would like to express our highest appreciation and thanks to the Sarawak Government under the leadership of the Premier of Sarawak for the announcement of the Sarawak Budget 2026 during the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting on December 3.

“I also extend our highest appreciation to the Premier, who is always attentive and provides full support in efforts to strengthen the capabilities and capacity of the Sarawak Civil Service to ensure a more effective, efficient and innovative service delivery to the people.

“This initiative is clearly outlined in the Ninth Strategic Thrust: Strengthening Government Capability and Public Service Delivery,” he said in a post on his official Facebook page today.

Abu Bakar said the incentive comes with an equally significant responsibility.

He called on all civil servants to continue being dedicated, strengthen a high-performance work culture, and work as one team towards a more progressive and prosperous Sarawak.

“Let us together ensure that every initiative of the Sarawak Government translates into real impact for the people,” he said.

“With shared commitment and the SCS One Team spirit, I am confident that the Sarawak Civil Service will continue to be the main catalyst in moving this state forward as a prosperous, inclusive and resilient region.”
