KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak’s vocational colleges won three championship titles and several top placings at the Festival Seni Kolej Vokasional (FeSKoV) 2026 national competition.
Students from Kolej Vokasional Kuching, Kolej Vokasional Matang and Kolej Vokasional Bintulu represented the Sarawak Zone at the three day festival, held at Kompleks Kraf from July 24 to 26.
Kolej Vokasional Matang emerged champion in the Battle of the Band category and also finished fifth in both the Solo Singing and Duet Singing competitions.
Sarawak also excelled in the Modest Fashion events, with Kolej Vokasional Kuching winning the Modest Fashion Accessories category, while Kolej Vokasional Bintulu claimed the Modest Fashion Attire title. Kolej Vokasional Matang added to the state’s medal haul by finishing third in the Modest Fashion Accessories category.
Organised by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Division under the Ministry of Education, FeSKoV 2026 brought together vocational college students from across the country to compete in creative and performing arts.
The achievements highlighted the ability of Sarawak’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) students to excel not only in technical and vocational fields but also in creative arts at the national level.
According to the organisers, the success reflected the students’ dedication, intensive preparation and teamwork, as well as the commitment of their teachers, coaches and supporting staff.
Besides providing a platform for competition, FeSKoV also enabled students to exchange ideas and showcase their creativity while strengthening leadership, teamwork and self-confidence through participation at the national level.
The organisers added that the participation also helped promote Sarawak’s arts and cultural heritage to a wider audience while reinforcing the role of vocational colleges in nurturing well-rounded graduates with strengths in technical skills, creativity, innovation and co-curricular development.
