SELANGOR: The Sarawak State Sports Council (MSNS) secretariat has begun operations at DoubleTree by Hilton here, which will serve as the main coordination centre for Team Sarawak throughout the 22nd Malaysia Games (SUKMA) Selangor 2026.
A survey by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) on Tuesday found secretariat personnel busy preparing the operations centre, ensuring all administrative and logistical arrangements are in place ahead of the Games.
The secretariat will oversee the coordination of contingent movements, team logistics and operational requirements throughout the competition, which runs from Aug 15 to 24.
Team Sarawak will be represented by a 974-member contingent comprising 787 athletes, 132 coaches and 55 team managers.
The athlete contingent consists of 431 men and 356 women, who will compete in 37 sports across 468 events – 238 men’s, 212 women’s and 18 mixed events.
Preparations for the contingent remain on schedule, with final arrangements continuing ahead of Friday’s opening ceremony at Dataran Kemerdekaan in Shah Alam.
The Games will conclude with the closing ceremony at Aneka Walk PKNS in Shah Alam on Aug 24.
