SIBU: Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah made his first official working visit to the district police headquarters (IPD) here yesterday (Nov 17) since assuming leadership of the state police contingent (IPK).

He was welcomed by Sibu police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili, followed by an inspection of the guard of honour comprising senior officers and rank-and-file personnel.

The visit featured a traditional welcome dance performance by the Sibu IPD Cultural Club, followed by a detailed security briefing delivered by Zulkipli.

The working visit provided an opportunity for Sibu IPD to present the current security situation, crime statistics, operational management, and the headquarters’ achievements in maintaining public order.

Mohamad Zainal also engaged with the community, personally presenting donations to persons with disabilities, the needy, retired personnel, and police families.

Fifteen recipients received daily necessities and souvenirs as tokens of appreciation for their ongoing support to the police force.

Also present were Sibu deputy police chief Supt Boniface Bajai, division chiefs and senior officers.
