SINGAPORE: Sarawak’s cultural and natural heritage has taken centre stage at the Flower Dome, Gardens by the Bay, as part of Pesona Anggerik: Truly Asia Orchids.
Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Singapore (STATOS) in a Facebook post said the floral showcase celebrates 60 years of diplomatic ties between Malaysia and Singapore, held in conjunction with SG60.
SG60 is a nationwide effort in Singapore to celebrate the nation’s 60th year of independence in 2025, also known as the diamond jubilee.
Presented in collaboration with the High Commission of Malaysia in Singapore, the event highlights orchids and cultural elements from across Malaysia, including Sarawak.
Set against a landscape inspired by Malaysia’s natural wonders, visitors are treated to a vibrant display of orchid hybrids descended from native Malaysian species.
Adding depth to the exhibition are traditional features that reflect the country’s rich cultural tapestry, such as handcrafted rattan baskets, tribal attire, and distinctive headwear.
The exhibition provides a warm celebration of Malaysia’s close ties with Singapore, bringing together the beauty of orchids with the heritage and traditions of its closest neighbour.
