KUCHING: Sarawak Day, celebrated on July 22 every year, is not just an annual celebration, but a manifestation of the identity, spirit of struggle and pride of Sarawakians in the history, sovereignty and heritage of the state.
National Unity Minister, Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, said that July 22 each year is a hugely significant date for all the people of Sarawak.
As a Sarawak native and also the Kanowit Member of Parliament, Aaron expressed his pride at how Sarawak continues to be a symbol of unity and harmony in diversity.
“I call on everyone, particularly the younger generation, to preserve this spirit of unity. Happy Sarawak Day!” he posted on Facebook.
The Sarawak Day 2025 celebration, themed ’Sarawak Maju Makmur’ (Progressive and Prosperous Sarawak), has been held in Miri since Sunday.
Various activities have been organised, such as sales and exhibition carnivals, Sarawak Talent showcases, thanksgiving ceremonies and a townhall session with the state leadership before the highlight – the Sarawak Day Assembly – tonight. – BERNAMA
