Sarawak Deputy Premier visits Kenyalang Smart City site

MIRI: Sarawak Deputy Premier Sim Kui Hian visited the Kenyalang Smart City (KSC) development site here on Saturday to review progress on the project.

He was joined by Transport Minister, Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin; Deputy Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew; and Miri Mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang, along with representatives from the developer and other stakeholders.

The delegation was received by Teo Ah Khing, Chairman of Imasa Dinasti Sdn Bhd, who briefed them on the masterplan for the Kenyalang Smart City project.

Also present was Prof. Dong Jing Cheng, President of The Fudan Institutes of Integrative Medicine, Fudan University.

During the visit, the delegation toured several components under construction, including the Kenyalang Convention and Exhibition Centre (KCEC) One, a key facility within the development.

According to the developer, the convention centre is scheduled for completion by the end of May 2026 and is expected to accommodate up to 3,000 people.

A plaque-signing ceremony was also held to mark progress on the project.

The visit was Sim’s first to the Kenyalang Smart City site and provided an update on the development, which is planned as a mixed-use project incorporating smart infrastructure and urban facilities.
