KUCHING: Sarawak Energy celebrated the outstanding contributions of its top-performing vendors and contractors at the Sarawak Energy Vendor Excellence Awards (SEVEA) 2025 held at Waterfront Hotel here on Friday night.
With the theme ‘Empowering Partnerships, Driving Excellence’, the event recognises excellence in contract execution, service reliability and compliance with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg who officiated at the event, noted the important role vendors and contractors play in Sarawak’s ongoing energy transition towards renewable energy.
He said as SEB continues to grow, its vendors and contractors stand to benefit through increased opportunities, including potential collaborations with partners in other countries.
“In other words, under the wing of SEB, if SEB flies far, vendors will also fly far.
“There is a possibility that you may get a contract, and you work with people in another country as a joint venture company,” he said.
He thus said it is important for vendors to maintain professionalism and uphold SEB’s standards.
Earlier, the event saw 15 vendors recognised across six award categories, namely Best Works, Best Supplier, Best Service Provider, Best Local Consultant, Best International Consultant, and Best Bumiputera Partner.
Meanwhile, under the HSE Excellence Awards, one Contractor Environmental Impact Assessment Compliance Award (CECA) project partner and three contractors under the Contractor Transformation Programme (CTP) received Gold Awards for strong HSE performance.
