LONDON: The Ministry of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development is on an official working visit to London, United Kingdom, from Sept 6 to 14, to strengthen early childhood education development in the state.

The delegation is led by Deputy Minister Datuk Rosey Yunus, permanent secretary Datuk Felicia Tan Ya Hua, senior ministry officials and representatives from SeDidik Sdn. Bhd.

Rosey said the visit allows Sarawak to gain valuable exposure to policies and best practices in the UK, particularly in areas such as inclusive education and therapy-based learning.

“Beyond understanding effective strategies in the UK, this visit also opens doors for research collaboration with international institutions.

“This will enable us to leverage global expertise to improve the quality of early childhood education in Sarawak,” she said.

Rosey added the findings from this visit will be consolidated into new proposals to enhance early childhood education policy in Sarawak.

This includes strengthening community-based and nature-based approaches, as well as ensuring access to high-quality inclusive education for all levels of society.

During the visit, the delegation will engage with several key institutions including the Department of Education (DfE), National Day Nurseries Association, Roehampton Family Hub, University of Roehampton’s School of Psychology, London Early Years Foundation, EIFA International School, Walthamstow Toy Library and Play Centre, and Discover Children’s Story Centre.
