KUCHING: Fire victims in Kampung Bintawa Hilir received aid from the Sarawak Foundation.
The fire, which occurred in Kampung Bintawa Hilir on Jan 5, destroyed and damaged several houses, affecting 44 villagers in the area.
In response to the incident, the Foundation presented a donation of RM2,000 to each household.
The cheque was presented at the Masjid Darul Al Islam, Kampung Bintawa Hilir, on Feb 1 by the Sarawak Foundation director, Mersal Abang Rosli, to the representative of the affected families.
Also present during the ceremony were the principal assistant director (scholarship, programmes, and assistance), Zamahari Saidi; the assistant director (corporate), Jolly Marikan; and the assistant director (programmes and assistance), Mahathir Mohammad.
