THE Sarawak Government, through Mutiara Mortgage and Credit Sdn Bhd (Mutiara), continues its commitment to improving housing accessibility and affordability across the state.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian said Mutiara has received 2,525 applications, of which 2,234 applications have been approved amounting to RM21.29 million.
“On home financing, Mutiara has approved 2,031 applications involving financial allocation of RM184.27 million.
“A total of RM79.863 million has been disbursed to 1,337 house buyers at one per cent for B40 and three per cent for M40 per annum respectively,” he said.
He said in his ministerial winding-up speech at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting here today.
Dr Sim, who is also the Public Health, Housing, and Local Government Minister, said Mutiara Home Financing Scheme offers low interest rates for eligible applicants compared to commercial banks, and is subsidised by the Sarawak Government, making monthly instalments more affordable.
“It also provides up to 100 per cent financing with a repayment period of up to 40 years and a second-generation financing feature that allows children to continue the repayment and retain the family home,” he said.
