SEDC Energy Sdn Bhd (SEDCE) and Gentari Hydrogen Sdn Bhd continue to advance the Sarawak Green Hydrogen Hub, with plans for a joint venture company to develop centralised investor facilities.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said the hub is currently in the scope definition and engineering development phase.
He noted that two major projects namely the H2ornbill and H2biscus are progressing towards the completion of their Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) by the end of this year.
“Malaysia and Japan have also strengthened their commitment to hydrogen collaboration, further reinforcing Sarawak’s leadership in this sector,” he said during his ministerial winding-up speech at the DUN sitting here today.
Awang Tengah, who is also the Minister for International Trade, Industry and Investment, highlighted that the amended Gas Distribution Ordinance, passed in November last year, plays a vital role in ensuring the safe, responsible, and well-structured development of hydrogen-related activities.
“This important legislation came into force in March, helping to boost investor confidence and support the sustainable growth of Sarawak’s hydrogen economy,” he added.
