Sarawak KPDN committed to fostering harmonious business environment

KUCHING: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), Sarawak is committed to fostering an ideal business environment in the region.

According to Sarawak KPDN director Matthew Dominic Barin, numerous programmes have been implemented throughout the year to achieve this goal and to promote a more harmonious business climate in Sarawak.

“The primary objective is to create a more organised and conducive business environment in the state.”

Matthew said this during the Sarawak KPDN Media and Consumer Heroes Appreciation Night at Sheraton Hotel here, Monday (Dec 16).

He noted that these programmes engaged various segments of society, including traders, student consumer groups, schools and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

He added that significant progress has been made, as evidenced by the compliance of most traders with established regulations and their efforts to operate ethically.

“This observation came following a surprise visit conducted by the KPDN Minister and Sarawak KPDN to Satok Market in Kuching last Saturday.

“Therefore, I hope that next year, all of you across Sarawak, especially in KPDN, will carry out your tasks even more excellently. Likewise, we hope that our media partners and NGOs here will help us, together with KPDN, to achieve our objectives.”

Matthew urged all stakeholders, including the media and NGOs, to work hand-in-hand with KPDN to maintain an optimal and harmonious business environment in Sarawak.

He also stressed that the role of the media is very important because what the media report will later serve as guidance for consumers and community.
