WUHAN, China: The Sarawak media made a courtesy call on Wuhan Foreign Affairs Office on last Thursday as part of their visit trip to China.
The courtesy call was aimed at having a closed up conversation with the department while sharing and exchanging information from both sides particularly on Sarawak state and the Wuhan city itself.
The Sarawak media group members were welcomed by the Vice Director of Wuhan Foreign Affairs Office, Yu Feng.
Among the discussion topics were tourism attraction, the history of Wuhan, the business and industrial base in Wuhan as well as the future planning of Wuhan city.
After being done with the courtesy call, the group went to the Wuhan City Planning Hall, a department which is in-charge and responsible for planning the development of the city including the skyscrapers, business centres, tourism spots and others.
Inside the city planning hall, there are numerous information on the development of Wuhan city from nothing to something and including its future planning.
After a short visit to Wuhan City Planning Hall, the group continued with a visit to the Red Chamber of Wuhan.
The Red Chamber of Wuhan is a symbol of the 1911 revolution led by Dr. Sun Yat-sen. It is both a cultural and historical site in Wuhan city, whereby the former site of Hubei Military Government, also known the Red Chamber, is the major spot.
It also terminated the imperialistic government of the old China, and initiated the Republic era of China, so praised as “the gate to the Republic of China”.
It has been established since 1981. Both the leaders of the Chinese Communist Party and the People’s Republic of China have inspected in the chamber many times. It is situated at the wonderful surroundings.
Therefore, many celebrities paid visits here, including both the people and the politicians from Taiwan, and visitors from all over the world.
The last pit stop of the visit was the Yellow Crane Tower, which is located in the Sheehan (Snake Hill), Wuchang, Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province, the centre city in Central China, and the building is the landmark of Hubei Province and Wuhan City.
First built in the second year of Huangwanzhen period of Wu of the Three Kingdom (223), it got its name for standing on the Yellow Crane Jetty. Over nearly 1,800 years, it has witnessed the city’s development and change. It is the indispensable and most dazzling memory symbol of the historical and cultural city of Wuhan.
The Yellow Crane Tower near the mountain and by the river has unique geographical advantage and wonderful landscape. The beautiful myths and legends as well as the proses and poetry of the famous men of letter of all ages made the Yellow Crane Tower even more poetic and romantic as a historical and cultural famous tower known home and abroad.
