KUCHING: Mitsubishi Corporation has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its longstanding 50-year partnership with the Sarawak government, emphasising continued collaboration across various sectors, particularly in advancing efforts toward carbon neutrality.
Mitsubishi Corporation’s Executive Vice President, Kiyotaka Kikuchi, said that the courtesy call on Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg was made to discuss future business developments, with a core focus on green energy and initiatives for environmental sustainability.
“We have not discussed specific projects in detail, but today’s discussions centred on mutual benefits and future strategies,” he said at Wisma Bapa Malaysia today (Feb 3).
Abang Johari stressed the importance of ensuring the success of carbon neutrality-related projects during the meeting.
“Sarawak has great potential to become a carbon neutrality hub in ASEAN, supported by its growing investment-friendly related projects.
“Further discussions are expected in upcoming meetings to outline the specific forms of cooperation that can be implemented between Mitsubishi Corporation and Sarawak in the sustainable energy sector,” he added.
