KUCHING: Sarawak Mufti Datuk Khalidi Ibrahim has expressed his commitment to continue leading the Sarawak Fatwa institution with integrity, ensuring that it remains relevant and respected.

He said he would carry on the agenda implemented by former Mufti Datuk Kipli Yassin and fulfil the responsibilities entrusted to him to the best of his ability throughout his tenure.

“Our current plan is to continue all the efforts carried out by the previous leadership with full trust and dedication.

“I seek prayers from everyone so that I may carry this duty and responsibility with honesty, sincerity, wisdom and accountability,” he said.

He said this when officiating the Sarawak Mufti Handover Ceremony held at the Dewan Kompleks Islam Sarawak here today.

In this regard, he also conveyed his appreciation to the Sarawak Government leadership for entrusting him with the responsibility to lead the institution for the next term.

“My sincere thanks to the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and the top leadership for this trust.

“I humbly accept this appointment with gratitude to lead this prestigious institution,” he added briefly.
