KUCHING: Sarawak’s netball and lawn bowls contingents are all set to compete in the Malaysian Government Servants Welfare and Sports Council (MAKSAK) Games 2025, which will be held from Oct 2 to 5 in Terengganu.
The flag handover ceremony for the Sarawak contingent’s participation in the MAKSAK Games 2025 National Championship was officiated by Sarawak Women’s MAKSAK chairperson Datin Amar Baduyah Bujang at Sarawak Golf Club here today.
The ceremony served as a symbolic show of support and motivation for the athletes who will compete in the two main events—netball and lawn bowls.
For netball, the Sarawak contingent, who were runners-up in the previous edition, will compete with a squad of 15, including officials.
They are scheduled for four days of competition at the Federal Reserve Unit Sports Complex (PSP), Wakaf Tapai Unit, Marang in Terengganu.
Meanwhile, the lawn bowls squad, also comprising 15 participants including officials, will see action over four days at the Lawn Bowl Arena, Gong Badak State Sports Complex, Terengganu.
Baduyah expressed confidence that the Sarawak contingent would deliver outstanding results this time, while urging all athletes to maintain discipline, teamwork, and focus throughout the tournament.
The MAKSAK Games is an annual championship that gathers civil servants from across the country to strengthen networks of cooperation, foster sportsmanship, and promote a healthy lifestyle among members of the public service.
