KUCHING: Sarawak pride was on full display at the 13th ASEAN Para Games 2025 as para bowlers Muhammad Razif Iskandar and Abang Yahya Abang Azhar powered Malaysia to gold in the men’s doubles event.

The Malaysian tenpin bowling team delivered an outstanding overall performance, winning a total of five gold, five silver and one bronze medals at the Games.

Sarawak athletes made a significant contribution to that success, accounting for two gold, one silver and one bronze medals, underscoring the state’s growing influence in para sports.

Adding further significance to the achievement, Minister of Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah was in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand to extend strong support and encouragement to Malaysian para athletes, particularly those from Sarawak, competing in the 13th ASEAN Para Games held from Jan 21 to 26.

During her visit, she presented medals to the tenpin bowling para athletes at the award ceremony, reflecting the continued commitment and support for the Malaysian contingent on the regional stage.
