KUCHING: Sarawak’s para swimming squad delivered a stellar outing at the 2025 National Para Swimming Circuit 2, MSN/Allianz/Prepma, held at Kedah Aquatic Centre, Alor Setar, from Aug 22 to 24.
The team bagged a haul of 34 medals, comprising 14 gold, 10 silver and 10 bronze — a remarkable achievement for the 14 swimmers under coach Syarbini Kedri.
‘It was an outstanding achievement from our swimmers at this championship. The success came from their hard work and focus throughout training,’ said the coach.
Syarbini acknowledged that Sarawak’s para swimmers faced stiff competition from other states but praised their determination to give their best in every event.
Among the medal contributors were Arusdianto Rusmadi (6 gold, 1 silver), Galang Jabai (2 gold, 6 silver), Ng Jia Tak (1 gold, 2 silver, 4 bronze), Safwan Emman (2 gold, 1 silver), Sereen Lulong (1 gold, 2 bronze), Mohd Zia (3 gold, 1 silver), Rapelson (1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze), Mohd Firdaus (1 gold, 3 silver, 1 bronze), Gary (1 gold, 1 bronze), Sheena (1 gold, 1 bronze), Alvin (1 gold, 1 bronze) and Fattah (1 bronze).
