MALUDAM: Residents here can now enjoy easier access to government services with the launch of the Sarawak Kiosk Service, including Sarawak Pass, at strategic locations in the district.

Lingga state assemblyman, Dayang Noorazah Awang Sohor, highlighted the initiative in a Facebook post on Friday (Jan 23), saying it reflects the state government’s commitment to improving access to public services in rural areas.

A recent site visit and discussion were held by Sarawak Pass representatives, local councillors and officials from the Maludam District Office to finalise the kiosk’s placement and ensure it meets the needs of the local community.

The kiosk allows residents to renew official documents, pay government bills and fees, and access a range of digital government services, all in one convenient location.

“This initiative ensures that rural communities like Maludam can access essential services without the need to travel long distances to town.

“It is part of our efforts to make government services more efficient, safe and accessible to everyone,” said Dayang Noorazah.

Operating daily from 8.00 am to 7.00 pm or 5.00 pm, the kiosk provides residents with flexible access to services while reflecting the Sarawak Pass principle of ‘One Identity, Multiple Opportunities’ as a single, trusted gateway to all digital services of the Sarawak Government.

By bringing government services closer to residents, the programme not only saves time and resources for rural communities but also demonstrates the state government’s proactive approach in listening to public needs and enhancing community well-being.
