SERDANG: The Sarawak Pavilion emerged as the Best State Pavilion and overall Champion of Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agro-tourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2026, capping the state’s participation in the MAHA 2026 on a high note.
The achievement earned Sarawak RM15,000 in prize money and a certificate of appreciation, further highlighting the state’s success in showcasing the uniqueness, diversity and potential of its agro-food and commodity sectors at the national level.
The award was received by Ministry of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development (M-FICORD) Permanent Secretary Datuk Sirai Daha, together with officers and staff serving at the Sarawak Pavilion.
The presentation was officiated by Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu.
The achievement reflected the commitment, dedication and collective efforts of the team in ensuring Sarawak’s participation effectively showcased the state’s image and identity to visitors from across the country.
It also underscored the close cooperation among various Sarawak ministries, departments, agencies, entrepreneurs and industry players in promoting the strengths and distinctiveness of the state’s agro-food, agriculture and commodity sectors.
The Sarawak Pavilion’s success also demonstrated that its participation in MAHA went beyond being an exhibition platform, serving instead as a strategic avenue to promote Sarawak’s products, innovations, culture, entrepreneurship and agro-food and commodity potential to a wider audience.
MAHA 2026 is being held at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) from Aug 28 to Sept 6.
