SINGAPORE: A bold leap into the digital future was marked today with the official launch of Cloud Telecom’s eSIMM ROAM, the first Sarawak-built app offering instant global connectivity via eSIM technology.

Held at the Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Singapore (STATOS), the event celebrated a new era of roaming without physical SIM cards, overpriced bills, or unreliable service.

“eSIMM ROAM delivers competitively priced eSIM data plans, empowering users worldwide to access affordable, high-quality roaming connectivity,” said Executive Chairman of Cloud Telecom, Datuk Hii King Chiong, during the launch.

“We are proud to pioneer this from Sarawak and bring it to a global audience,” he said.

Developed in Sarawak and built for international travellers and small businesses, eSIMM ROAM is now available in 140 countries and aims to expand to 180 nations within the year.

With its intuitive interface, users can browse, purchase, and activate international data plans in under one minute all from their mobile devices, available via the App Store and Google Play, including China.

Designed for both tourists and business travelers, the app provides seamless and transparent pricing with no hidden fees.

Users can benefit from 24/7 call centre support and easily monitor data usage, manage top-ups, and track expiry dates all in one place.

STATOS, the event host, is also expected to play a key role in promoting the app.

“STATOS is well positioned to help connect with both the travel industry and business travelers through its extensive network,” a STATOS representative shared.

“In 2024 alone, over 40 million users globally shifted to eSIM technology.

“With up to two billion eSIM-compatible smartphones expected by end-2025, eSIMM ROAM is on track to reach millions of users within two years” said Vice President of Cloud Telecom, Frank Hwong.
