KUCHING: Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS) has contributed RM200,000 to the Sarawak Premier League 2026, reaffirming its commitment to football development in the state.

The contribution was presented by PETROS Senior Vice President for Human Capital, Corporate Relations and Services Ismail Said to Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) president Datuk Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman.

According to a statement issued today (Sept 1), the Sarawak Premier League returns for its second edition this year, bringing together football clubs and players from across the state while providing a platform for local talent to compete and develop.

Ismail said the sponsorship reflects PETROS’ continued commitment to supporting inclusive community development through sport.

“Sport has an important role in bringing people together and fostering a strong sense of community.

“Through our continued support for the Sarawak Premier League, we hope to contribute to the development of football in Sarawak while providing opportunities for players to grow, compete and realise their potential,” he said.

The sponsorship builds on PETROS’ support for the league’s inaugural season in 2025 and continues its partnership with FAS in developing football across Sarawak.

PETROS said initiatives such as the Sarawak Premier League form part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen community wellbeing and contribute positively to the people of Sarawak.
