KUALA LUMPUR: Over 200 Sarawak entrepreneurs will sell their products with very reasonable prices at the Sarawak Product Pavillion (SPP) which will be open to customers starting today.
Established by the Ministry of Industrial and Entrepreneur Development (MIED) of Sarawak, the SPP premise is located at Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman in Kuala Lumpur (adjacent to Pos Malaysia Medan Tuanku). It serves as a one-stop sales center of Sarawak products that are also digitally connected via ecommerce to facilitate consumers access to Sarawak products such as bario rice, black pepper, Sarawak laksa, handicrafts, furniture and so on.
The SPP is managed by Borneo Marts Enterprise Sdn Bhd, open from 9am to 6pm daily. To date, there are 32 Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) entrepreneurs who have submitted their respective products.
The launch of the SPP was graced by Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneur, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan at the premise here on Sunday. Earlier in his welcoming address, Tengah stated that SPP was created to promote and expand Sarawak’s entrepreneur products not only in the Peninsula but also internationally. He said the four-storey building housed seminar rooms, offices, e-commerce support services and accommodation. In addition, a cafe managed by Sarawak Kitchen will be operating soon at the premise.
SPP has worked with various state-related agencies such as Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC), Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports, Sarawak Agriculture Department and Persatuan Anak Sarawak.
