FRANKFURT, Germany: Sarawak’s aspirations to become a global leader in legacy-driven business events take centre stage at the international premiere of Business Events at IMEX Frankfurt 2025.

BESarawak enthusiastically adopted the new tagline ‘Driving Impact Together’ for their redesigned Tribe Legacy Sarawak campaign.

Marking its third consecutive appearance at the prestigious trade show, BESarawak’s return this year is especially significant as it nears the completion of its Legacy Impact Master Action Plan (Legacy MAP) 2023-2025.

The plan is part of Sarawak’s wider vision to position itself as the Legacy Capital of Business Events in Malaysia and Borneo by 2030.

BESarawak’S Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Amelia Roziman, said the agency is ahead of schedule with its initiatives, highlighting the global expansion of the Borneo Inspires Legacy Awards as a testament to Sarawak’s growing role in legacy-driven business events.

“We are ahead of schedule with our initiatives.

“The Borneo Inspires Legacy Awards has now expanded onto a global platform.

“This momentum proves our commitment to building Sarawak’s identity as the epicentre of impactful business events,” she said.

Central to Sarawak’s vision are three strategic offerings:

AI.LEGACY Intelligent Impact Management System: Developed in partnership with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), this pioneering tool helps event organisers measure and report business events’ long-term socioeconomic and environmental impact.

Legacy360: A platform that fosters dialogue among government agencies, industry leaders, and community representatives to drive sustainable development through business events.

Borneo Inspires Legacy Awards (BILA): A prestigious programme which honours outstanding business event contributors who positively impact communities through innovation and knowledge-sharing.

Creative Industry and Performing Arts Deputy Minister, Datuk Snowdan Lawan, highlighted that the Tribe Legacy Sarawak campaign was launched nationally earlier this year, followed by a regional debut at The Meetings Show Asia Pacific in Singapore.

“This campaign reaffirms Sarawak’s commitment to elevating business events into powerful economic growth, sustainability and community development tools.

“As we launch the Sarawak Sustainability Blueprint 2030 later this month, we further align business events with our strategic green economy transition,” he said.

The blueprint, set to serve as a roadmap for Sarawak’s sustainable future, complements BESarawak’s objectives of integrating environmental responsibility into every aspect of the events ecosystem.

Amelia added that BESarawak’s three core initiatives, AI.LEGACY, Legacy360, and BILA 2025, work together as a holistic framework to strengthen the long-term impact of business events, beginning in Sarawak and expanding globally.

She encouraged international participation in the Borneo Inspires Legacy Awards (BILA) 2025, now open for global submissions, inviting organisers to showcase how their events contribute to a sustainable and transformative future.
