KUCHING: Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development II (Talent Development), Datuk Francis Harden Hollis praised Sarawak Skills for its role in shaping Sarawak’s workforce and meeting the demands of the digital economy.
Harden said this on Thursday when visiting Sarawak Skills in Tabuan Jaya here to explore its new teaching, learning, and training facilities.
He noted the importance of collaboration between the government and institutions like Sarawak Skills to achieve the goals of support Sarawak’s Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030).
The visit highlighted the institution’s efforts to support PCDS 2030 through advanced technology and training programmes.
“During the visit, Harden was briefed by executive director of Sarawak Skills Hallman Sabri, on the institution’s latest developments.
“He then toured state-of-the-art facilities, including the I.R. 4.0 Trendsetter Hub, Smart Solar House, and Hydrogen Technology Lab. These facilities are designed to equip students with the skills needed for the digital economy,” Sarawak Skills said in a press release issued on Thursday (Feb 6).
Hallman noted Sarawak Skills’ commitment to providing up-to-date training for students from diverse backgrounds, including school leavers, working adults, and unemployed graduates.
He also highlighted partnerships with industry players from China and the Philippines, focusing on the automotive and energy sectors to drive innovation and skill development.
