KUCHING: A delegation from the SME Association of Sarawak gained valuable insights at the three-day SME Day 2025 held in Kuala Lumpur from May 5.

Its President, Jordan Ong, and Secretary-General, Alan Wei, led the delegation to the event which was aimed at building bridges between key SME stakeholders across Malaysia.

Their participation reaffirmed the SME Association of Sarawak’s commitment to championing local businesses, expanding strategic networks, and ensuring that Sarawak SMEs remain competitive and visible on a national level.

On the first day, the delegation visited Syarikat Jaminan Pembiayaan Perniagaan (SJPP), gaining valuable insights into government-backed financing schemes designed to empower SMEs.

“In the evening, members connected with fellow entrepreneurs and leaders at a networking dinner hosted by SME Malaysia, which brought together representatives from multiple state branches,” it said in a statement.

“The gathering created a meaningful platform for collaboration, idea-sharing, and future partnership opportunities,” it said.

Next on the agenda was a productive session at the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), where members were briefed on the various export assistance packages and support programmes available for Malaysian SMEs aiming to grow globally.
