SELANGOR: Sarawak claimed its first athletics gold medal at the 2026 Malaysia Games (SUKMA) after winning the women’s 4x100m relay at the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Stadium on Monday (Aug 17).
The quartet of Danea Humairah Sharyman Sufry, Alvinia Aivie Anak Jackly, Syarifah Nur Alisya Syed Zafirna and Ormilla Octavia Codday Nyadau crossed the finish line in 46.89 seconds to secure the title.
Terengganu pushed Sarawak all the way but had to settle for silver after finishing just 0.05 seconds behind in 46.94s.
Johor completed the podium with the bronze medal in 47.24s.
The victory handed Sarawak its first athletics gold of SUKMA XXII Selangor 2026 and added another major boost to the state’s growing medal haul.
