KUCHING: In a move eagerly anticipated by local football fans, Sarawak State Stadium has been confirmed as the venue for the Sarawak Premier League 2025/2026 final.
The title showdown will see Samarahan take on Bintulu after both teams emerged victorious in their respective semi-final encounters.
The tournament chairman, Sophie Shariee, revealed that the decision was recently finalised.
According to Sophie, the decision to set the State Stadium as the venue for the final, scheduled for Feb 15, has already been communicated to both teams involved.
“The State Stadium will be the venue for the final match between Samarahan and Bintulu on that date,” Sophie said recently.
He added that the match is scheduled to kick off at 3pm.
Both teams booked their places in the final following hard-fought semi-final victories.
Samarahan edged past neighbouring rivals Serian with a narrow 1-0 win, while Bintulu advanced after securing a 3-2 aggregate victory over Kuching.
