KOTA KINABALU: Sarawak is strengthening its trade and business links with Sabah and regional markets through its participation in the Sabah International Expo 2026 (SIE2026), taking place from September 4 to 6.

Deputy Minister for International Trade, Industry and Investment Sarawak (MINTRED), Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh, attended the opening ceremony at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) here today.

The ceremony was officiated by Deputy Chief Minister III and Minister of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport (MINDET) Sabah, Datuk Ewon Benedick.

SIE2026, Sabah’s premier biennial trade fair, brings together industry players, entrepreneurs and local and international business communities under the theme ‘Sabah – Your Gateway to Global Opportunities’.

The expo features sectors including manufacturing, oil and gas, agriculture and agro-based industries, tourism, green technology, information and digital technology, property, construction and infrastructure.

Eight Sarawak entrepreneurs are participating through the Sarawak Pavilion with MINTRED’s support, providing opportunities to showcase local products, establish business networks, and explore new markets, particularly within ASEAN and BIMP-EAGA.

The participating companies are RFM Global Corporation Sdn Bhd, Syarikat F.O Farra Orkid, Jom Travel and Tour Sdn Bhd and Aroma Lab Sdn Bhd, Beverages Marketing (S) Sdn Bhd, PPES Ternak Sdn Bhd, Koperasi Apong Samarahan Berhad, Sluvi Company and Bued Contractor.

Their participation provides opportunities to showcase Sarawak products and services to a wider market while engaging directly with potential buyers, strategic partners and industry players from Sabah, Peninsular Malaysia and international markets.

It also reflects MINTRED’s continued efforts to empower local enterprises through promotional opportunities, business networking, and the exploration of new markets.
