SELANGOR: Sarawak’s swimmers made an early splash at Para SUKMA XXII Selangor 2026 this morning (Sept 7), collecting two silver and one bronze medal through Galang Jabai, Fraidden Dawan and Rapelson Richard Hamit.
Galang secured silver in the men’s 50m freestyle S7 after clocking 35.89 seconds, while teammate Rapelson completed the podium with bronze in 51.31s.
The gold went to Kedah’s Muhammad Syafiq Azman, who stopped the clock at 34.90s.
Fraidden then added another silver for Sarawak in the men’s 100m breaststroke SB9, finishing in 1:28.79.
Selangor’s Muhammad Safwan Suhaimi claimed gold in 1:25.00, while Labo Taulim of the Federal Territories took bronze in 1:32.56.
The three medals from swimming took Sarawak’s tally to five medals as of noon, comprising one gold, two silver and two bronze.
The haul provided an early boost to Sarawak’s Para SUKMA campaign as the contingent continues its medal hunt across the Games.
