KUCHING: The Unit Peneraju Agenda Bumiputera (TERAJU) continues to strengthen its strategic collaboration with the Sarawak government to empower the development of Bumiputera entrepreneurs and companies in the state through various financing initiatives and comprehensive support programmes.

TERAJU chief executive officer Junady Nawawi said the effort was reflected during the courtesy call on Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, aimed at discussing closer cooperation between the unit and the state government.

He said the discussion focused on expanding TERAJU’s role as the central agency responsible for scaling up Bumiputera entrepreneurs and the economic ecosystem, particularly in helping to develop more local entrepreneurs and companies in Sarawak.

“Among the aspects discussed were financing facilities provided by TERAJU through collaborations with financial institutions, as well as peer-to-peer financing and recognised market operators for shariah-compliant working capital and project financing,” he said after the courtesy visit at Wisma Sumber Alam on Monday (Mar 30).

In addition, Junady said the unit is scheduled to launch the Bumiputera Sarawak and Sabah Scale-Up Fund next month, which is expected to serve as a new catalyst for the growth and expansion of Bumiputera entrepreneurs in both regions.

He added that the move is in line with ongoing efforts by the unit and the Sarawak government to strengthen Bumiputera participation in high-impact economic sectors, while expanding access to more inclusive and sustainable strategic financing.
