KUCHING: Sarawak has been selected as the host for this year Youth Sustainability Forum (YSF) 2025 due to its active role in driving green economic growth and clean energy development in Malaysia.
The announcement followed the inaugural meeting of the Advisory Council and Stakeholders YSF 2025, chaired by federal Deputy Economy Minister Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib, as shared in her Facebook post on Tuesday (June 10).
“The meeting served as a platform for discussions with relevant stakeholders to ensure the smooth implementation of YSF 2025.
“The programme is scheduled to take place from Aug 8 to 12.”
She also noted that YSF 2025 has the potential to raise awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among youth, especially in Sarawak.
“The forum not only aims to deepen young people’s understanding of sustainable development but also has the potential to contribute to the state’s economic growth through the participation of delegates from across Malaysia and the Asean region.
“I welcome the organisation of this forum and fully support the initiative.
“YSF 2025 is expected to become a key platform for cultivating green leadership among the younger generation, paving the way for a more sustainable future,” she said.
