Sarawak unveils tourism initiatives at ITB Berlin 2025

BERLIN: Sarawak has unveiled its latest tourism initiatives at ITB Berlin 2025, showcasing its cultural heritage, natural wonders, and culinary attractions to a global audience of industry leaders and media.

The launch, held at Hall 26, Stand 115, was officiated by Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry & Performing Arts Sarawak, Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, in the presence of the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia, Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, alongside industry leaders, tourism stakeholders, and international media.

Ting invited global visitors to discover Sarawak’s rich cultural and natural heritage in his keynote address.

“Sarawak, known as the Land of the Hornbills, offers an unforgettable experience where culture, adventure, nature, food, and festivals come together to create a journey like no other,” he said.

Furthermore, Ting highlighted Sarawak’s enthusiasm for the upcoming Visit Malaysia Year 2026 campaign.

“Sarawak is ready to welcome the world to experience our pristine rainforests, vibrant cultural heritage, and exceptional gastronomy.

“We invite travellers to explore the heart of Borneo, where an unforgettable journey awaits,” he said.

A newly unveiled promotional video showcased Sarawak’s stunning landscapes, rich cultural traditions, and unique travel experiences, aiming to attract global travellers with its sustainable and authentic tourism offerings.

With 50,426 European visitors recorded in 2024, Sarawak’s participation at ITB Berlin 2025 has strengthened its reputation as a top destination for travellers seeking authentic, immersive, and sustainable tourism experiences.
