VANCOUVER, Canada: Sarawakian corporate leader, Hani Nur Zaihanirah Zaini, has begun her second year as an International Director of Toastmasters International, continuing her historic role as the first Malaysian woman on the organisation’s global board.
Hani was formally installed for the 2026-2027 term during the Toastmasters International Convention held at the Vancouver Convention Centre from August 19 to 22.
First elected to the board in 2025, she returned for a second year among 20 global leaders responsible for discussions and decisions shaping the future of the worldwide organisation.
Hani said representing Malaysia at the board level carried a significance beyond personal achievement.
“Every time I take my seat at the board table and see the Malaysian flag standing behind me, I am reminded that this opportunity is bigger than one individual,” she said.
Her continued service comes as Malaysia prepares to celebrate its 69th Independence Day, reflecting the growing presence of Malaysians taking on leadership roles on the international stage.
Professionally, Hani is the General Manager of Faradale Holdings Sdn Bhd and a member of AZAM Sarawak and SME Sarawak.
Toastmasters International is a global non-profit educational organisation that helps members develop public speaking, communication and leadership skills.
Founded in 1924 and headquartered in Englewood, Colorado, the organisation has more than 265,000 members in over 13,800 clubs across nearly 150 countries.
