PADAWAN: The people of Sarawak have been urged to continue giving their full support to development initiatives introduced by the Sarawak Government under the leadership of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).

Deputy Minister of Transport (Aviation and Road) Datuk Dr Jerip Susil said that throughout GPS’ administration, various development initiatives have been implemented, including in the green economy sector, infrastructure development and other areas, for the overall well-being of the people.

“I hope that all development programmes that have been implemented and are being planned will continue to receive support.

“I also hope that the people will continue to give their mandate to the GPS government to ensure the continuity of development programmes in this area,” he said at the opening of the ‘UKAS Bersama Komuniti’ Chinese New Year celebration for the Mambong constituency here on Saturday (Feb 28).

On the programme, Dr Jerip, who is also Mambong state assemblyman, said such events are not solely celebrations for the Chinese community but involve other races as well.

“This is because we are a multi-racial, multi-ethnic and multi-religious society where every celebration throughout the year is celebrated together by all levels of the community,” he added.

During the event, he also presented food baskets and financial contributions to 10 recipients from vulnerable groups.

Also present was Puncak Borneo Member of Parliament, Datuk Willie Mongin.
