KUCHING: The ‘Sarawakku Sayang 2026’ Programme will kick off in Limbang from April 10 to 12, marking the start of a statewide initiative aimed at bringing government services closer to the people across Sarawak.
The three-day programme, to be held at the Limbang Sports Complex, is expected to be officiated by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
‘Sarawakku Sayang 2026’ is an integrated platform that adopts a ground engagement approach, enabling the government to better understand grassroots needs while delivering services directly to the public through a one-stop centre.
The programme brings together government agencies, government-linked companies (GLCs), non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and the private sector, offering a wide range of services including health screenings, educational assistance, entrepreneurship opportunities, welfare support and digital services such as bill payments, fines and land premium transactions.
It also serves as a platform to promote government policies and initiatives, strengthen ties between the government and local communities, and foster unity and a sense of belonging among Sarawakians.
The programme comprises five key components: official ceremonies, main exhibitions, service counters, entrepreneur sales booths, and community activities.
Among the highlights is the Sarawak Pavilion, which showcases the state’s development achievements and future aspirations, including infrastructure such as road networks, water supply and electricity.
Service counters will focus on sectors such as health, education, welfare, entrepreneurship as well as digital innovation.
Local entrepreneurs will also benefit from the ‘Sarawak Kitchen’ segment, where they can promote food and handicraft products, while community activities will feature fun runs, traditional games, cultural performances, concerts and e-contests.
The programme in Limbang is part of a broader rollout across 12 divisions in 2026. Following Limbang, the programme will then be held in Miri from April 24 to 26 at Miri Stadium, followed by Bintulu from May 22 to 24 at the Old Airport Site.
Subsequently, it will continue in Mukah from June 19 to 21 at Dataran Pehin Setia Raja, before moving to Sibu from June 26 to 28 at Dataran Bandar Sibu, and Kapit from July 10 to 12 at the Dewan Suarah compound.
In August, the programme will take place in Sarikei from August 7 to 9 at the Sarikei Sports Complex, followed by Betong from September 4 to 6 at the Betong Sports Complex, and Sri Aman from September 25 to 27 at the Sri Aman Sports Complex.
The programme will then be held in Serian from October 16 to 18 at the Serian Conference Centre parking area, followed by Samarahan from October 30 to November 1 at the Kota Samarahan Municipal Council grounds, and finally in Kuching from November 20 to 22 at Metrocity, Matang.
The programme is coordinated by the Sarawak Implementation Monitoring Unit (SIMU) in collaboration with various ministries, departments and agencies at both state and divisional levels.
Overall, ‘Sarawakku Sayang 2026’ underscores the Sarawak Government’s commitment to ensuring inclusive development, strengthening community well-being, and enhancing public confidence through closer engagement with the rakyat.
