BETONG: Three activities under the ‘Sarawakku Sayang’ (SKS) 2026 programme here have been cancelled due to the ongoing haze.
Aerobics, Betong Berekot and Ngohet Sikai events, scheduled for Sunday (Sept. 27), were called off following advice from the Betong Divisional Health Office as air quality remains unhealthy.
The SKS 2026 main organising committee said the decision was taken as a precaution to reduce health and safety risks to participants, personnel and the public.
Other events and activities under the programme will proceed as scheduled.
The organisers said the haze situation will continue to be monitored, with further measures to be taken based on advice and guidelines from the relevant authorities.
The public was also urged to understand that the cancellations were made with the health and safety of those attending the programme in mind.
