KUCHING: The Department of Environment (DOE) Malaysia has confirmed that all air quality monitoring stations in Sarawak recorded moderate Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 5:00 p.m. today, according to data from the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS).
Miri registers the highest API level at 142, approaching the threshold of the unhealthy category.
Other areas recorded the following API readings: Bintulu (83), Kuching (76), Samarahan (76), Sri Aman (70), Serian (70), Sarikei (69), Sibu (67), Mukah (67) and Kapit (59)
Vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly and individuals with respiratory conditions are advised to limit prolonged outdoor exposure if API levels continue to rise.
