KUCHING: As part of the Sarawak Industry Excellence Awards (PSIEA) 2023 initiative, a thorough evaluation session recently took place at the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) Complex.
This session involved 30 companies representing various sectors across Sarawak, all aimed at recognizing exemplary practices within organisations that have significantly contributed to the state’s economic growth.
The overarching theme of the endeavour is “Prosperity, Inclusivity, Sustainability: Advancing Sarawak Toward 2030.”
“Through a strategic collaboration with the Sarawak Business Federation (SBF), the award is held every two years, commencing in 2018, and organisations participating in PSIEA will have the opportunity to represent Sarawak at the national level, namely the Industry Excellence Awards (AKI), organised by the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry,” said MPC in a press release today (Sept 2)
It mentioned that the organisations’ entries have been divided into four categories: micro, small, medium, and large.
“By employing the Malaysia Business Excellence Framework (MBEF) criteria for evaluation, participating organisations will be assigned scores, and each organisation category will receive the Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards.
“In line with the framework’s competitiveness, which measures the efficiency of businesses through the agility of the organisation, we believe that this award will serve as a catalyst for promoting the concept of Business Excellence (BE) within Sarawak organisations, thus becoming an integral part of the BE community.
“Additionally, outstanding organisations are hoped to become reference models and motivators, fostering healthy competition within the Sarawak industry,” it added.
The PSIEA 2023 ceremony is scheduled to be held on October 9 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), officiated by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
