LONDON, England: Dr Wynson Ong Teck Ping was honoured at the United Kingdom (UK) House of Lords on July 23 with the King’s Award for Excellence 2025 and an Honorary Doctorate in Consumer Advocacy & Community Development, both personally conferred by Lord Paul Martin.
The accolades recognise Ong’s outstanding contributions to consumer advocacy and community development.
Among just 21 recipients worldwide and one of only 11 to receive the honorary doctorate, Ong’s recognition stands as a milestone not only for himself but also for Malaysia, Borneo, and most notably, Sarawak.
“This honour is not just a personal milestone; it is a shared triumph that reflects the power of community, culture and collective effort,” Ong said in a press statement on Monday.
The King’s Award for Excellence is one of the UK’s most prestigious international honours, celebrating global leaders who drive positive change, cross-cultural collaboration, and innovative leadership.
