KUCHING: Sarawak’s recognition as one of the world’s five best places to enjoy retirement is proof that the well-being and prosperity of its people rank among the best globally.

Batu Kitang assemblyman, Datuk Lo Khere Chiang, said Sarawak is well known for its friendly and caring community.

“I am informed that Sarawak is among the five best places in the world to live and also one of the most retirement-friendly locations.

“This reflects who we truly are as a people, our compassion and our willingness to care for one another,” he said at the launch of the Housekeeping Training Programme organised by the Kuching Special Needs Association at the association’s building here today.

Lo added that Sarawak has become a preferred choice due to its strong leadership and sound financial system.

“I am informed that Sarawak is among the five best places to retire, and I believe this is because Sarawak is a blessed land, recognised as a region with good income.

“We are also blessed with leaders who know how to seek out and generate revenue for Sarawak.

“In the past, we had the late (Pehin Sri) Adenan Satem, and today Sarawak is led by Premier (Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri) Abang Johari Tun Openg, who continues to carry out his duties well,” he said.

Lo explained that Sarawak’s stable economy is a key attraction, coupled with the prosperity enjoyed by its people, making the state an appealing choice for outsiders seeking to spend their retirement years there.
